P 7712 ノルウェー Gender equality

ssb

Roughly as many women as men have higher education. But women and men's choice of studies follows traditional patterns. While women tend to choose teaching, health and care services, men tend to choose technical subjects and natural sciences.

From the mid-1970s, the employment level for women has increased dramatically. Today there are almost as many women as men in paid work. However, there are still clear distinctions between female and male occupations, and women are much more likely to work part-time than men.

Although more women are becoming managers, only 1 out of 5 executive managers are women. Women manifest themselves most frequently among the middle managers, particularly in teaching, health and social services.

Women's average monthly pay was 85.0 per cent of men's in 2008. The differences in pay vary considerably according to industry, educational background and age.

P 7587 ノルウェー:人口統計 +1.3%

ノルウェー政府統計局 2010.12.16

A population growth of 65 000 is the highest result ever; 2,700 higher than the previous peak in 2008 and 5 800 higher than in 2009. Close to one third of the increase will be due to the birth surplus, while slightly more than two-thirds come from migration surplus from abroad. Looking to earlier figures, the birth surplus in the middle of the 1990s was around 70 per cent. A net migration from abroad of 44 500 will be the highest result ever recorded, 1 100 higher than in 2008. A birth excess of 20 500 will be roughly as high as last year, and we must go back to 1974 to find higher figures.

After a negative result in 2008, pension funds again have a positive result in 2009. The main cause for this positive development was the strong development in the security markets throughout 2009.

Profit before tax for the pension funds amounted to NOK 3.2 billion by the end of 2009. In 2008, the pension funds had a deficit of NOK 4.7 billion. The main reason for this improvement was, as mentioned above, the strong development in the security markets.

The pension funds had profits on financial assets of almost NOK 14.5 billion in 2009, compared to losses of NOK 21 billion in 2008.

P 5692 ノルウエー:ナーシングホーム ベッド数初の減少

ノルウエー政府統計局 2010.07.08

The 2009 nursing and care statistics show a decrease in the number of nursing home beds. Although a tiny decrease – only 69 beds – this is the first time Statistics Norway has recorded a decrease for this figure.

At the same time, there is a small growth in the number of dwellings for the aged and disabled with service connected. Thus, the total 24-hour service has remained at about the same level. The re-building of rooms for several persons to rooms for one person and a generally higher standard have also resulted in fewer beds, excluding new beds. The private run institutions make up 10.5 per cent of the total, which represents a slight increase only.
