Resiliency Corps: A community mobilizing project that promotes evidence-based youth injury prevention, health promotion, and resiliency factors.
The New Mexico Department of Health’s Office of Injury Prevention has launched The Resiliency Corps as a “strategic action step,” informed by the New Mexico Youth Risk and Resiliency Survey (YRRS). The Resiliency Corps focuses on community mobilizing around youth safety and health promotion. The Corps supports county residents in researching, developing, implementing, sustaining, and evaluating youth health and safety policies and programs that address:
•suicide
•alcohol use/abuse
•drug use/abuse
•motor vehicle injury
•violence
•child abuse
The Corps promotes local and state policies and programs that strengthen resiliency factors in the lives of young people.
